Canadian acoustic world and Yiddish roots music born from the rich Toronto soundscapes of Eastern Europe, Middle East, India and Brazil.
"Absolutely exquisite..."  Karen Gordon,  CBC Radio 1
Hello everyone - thanks for visiting.  Amidst this glorious spring,  we saw the June 1 release of Yiddish Journey (ARC Music) - a concert of songs almost all in Yiddish - something of a departure from my band's current multi- and inter-cultural set lists...It was a lot of fun and I think the Fray band (+ guest on clarinet, Kinneret KiKi Sagee) sounded simply GREAT! Stay tuned for a bunch of video clips.  Now I am back in Prague. Meanwhile, there is a feature article by Magda Sebestova in the June 2016 edition of the popular Czech monthly mag Xantypa,  and 4 reviews for Yiddish Journey (see PRESS) - from U.K., The Netherlands and the U.S. - ; and a new podcast:.from Keith Wolzinger in lovely California... Both Yiddish Journey and our new EP "Live in America" are now available from this site as well (see LISTEN/ BUY).

Be well, and come back soon!! SOON! With love - Lenka L.

“Three new CDs in three years made in three different regions of the world, garnering at least as many awards and even more nominations. Toronto-based Lenka Lichtenberg has been on creative fire.  (Her)  work forms cultural connections, and it greatly expands upon the dialogue. Consider only her most recent recordings, all of which bring together top-notch musicians from around the world to create music that blends multiple languages, cultures, melodies and rhythm, and cross temporal, cultural and geographic borders…. (She is)  at home in many languages and musical styles, and every release highlights her talents, and those of the musicians with which she works…(her recordings are) written and performed with a confidence and skill that is remarkable..,  she seems like someone who will continually push herself to keep growing, experimenting in each new project.”   Cynthia Ramsay, The Jewish Independent, Vancouver, November 21, 2014  TEST

"Passionate and prolific, Lenka Lichtenberg is a force of nature within Canada’s world music scene…Like Loreena McKennitt with Celtic sounds, Lichtenberg is pushing Yiddish music beyond its klezmer stereotype into a truly inspired form of world music."   Nicholas JenningsPenguin Eggs, Edmonton
